01 Why this program is different

A certificate isn't enough anymore. People need to see you teach.

I started with live workshops only. As a father of three with a side practice, rooms cost money and my hours were few. Teaching online fixed that, and it did three jobs at once.

Time you control

A recorded class teaches while you're with your kids or at your job.

A much bigger room

You reach people far beyond your town, and the same videos fill your live workshops.

Credibility people can check

People watch how you teach and trust you before they meet you. It works like a CV.

Most certifications teach the techniques and stop there. This one also teaches you to be found.

02 Who it's for

For people who want to teach live and online.

This fits if

  • You have a steady practice and keep thinking "I could teach this".
  • You want a hybrid practice, next to your job or family, or growing into full time.
  • You're willing to teach on camera and publish, even if it feels awkward at first.

This doesn't fit if

  • You only want to lead in-person workshops. Other trainings serve that better.
  • You're new to breathwork. Build your own practice in Breath Rituals first.
  • You want a medical or clinical qualification. This isn't one.
03 The three months

Three months, three skills. By the end you've already taught.

One live 90-minute group session a week, Fridays around 4 pm Zurich (10 am New York). Every session is recorded. Two-week break over Christmas.

1
Month one · 23 October to 13 November

The method and its safety

Hormesis Breathing, Tummo, Kumbhaka and the slow practices, with the physiology under each. Who each technique is for, who should not do it, and how to screen. You pass the safety check before you lead anyone.

2
Month two · 20 November to 11 December

Delivery, in the room and on camera

Session design, cueing, pacing, and what to do when someone panics, cries or falls asleep. Live, on a call, and on a recording. You lead practice sessions and hand in a video each month for a personal review.

3
Month three · 18 December to 22 January

Your online presence, your first workshop, the exam

You decide who you teach and how you say it, set up one channel, and publish your first piece of teaching. You run your first workshop, online or in person, and I help you fill it. Simple, but not easy, which is why you don't do it alone.

04 Certification

You certify by teaching, not by attending.

Three months is the fastest path. If you need longer, you take longer.

1

Complete the method and safety curriculum.

2

Pass the safety and contraindications check.

3

Lead practice sessions and work with the feedback.

4

Run one workshop, online or in person, and hand in the debrief.

5

Pass the final teaching exam.

Pass, and you're a certified breathwork teacher through Kitaro Waga's Breathwork Teacher Program. The title and the core material stay yours, subscribed or not.

05 First cohort

First cohort. The most access to me you'll ever get.

There are no graduates yet and I won't pretend otherwise. What the first group gets is me, in every session and in every review. What you can check today is how I teach, and this is what Breath Rituals students say about it.

★★★★★
"Kitaro is a rare teacher: knowledgeable and inspiring, yet humble and seemingly without ego. He also has the innate ability to speak just the right amount during breathwork sessions."
★★★★★
"My previous trainers' sessions revolved around non-stop hyperventilation and tracking retention time, without any focus on the biology behind it. Once I discovered that Kitaro was embedding this into his explanation videos, I became very interested."
★★★★★
"An outstanding breathwork instructor — truly special. Every session with Kitaro gave me more energy, peace, and a deep sense of connection with my surroundings."

06 After you certify

After you certify, I keep coaching you.

I've spent over $20,000 learning to teach well, film myself, grow a YouTube channel, and run it all without making it my main job. On the Teacher Plan you get what worked, without the detours. As your skill grows your questions get deeper, and I'm still there for those.

12 live coaching sessions a year

One group Q&A and coaching session every month. This is where your marketing, branding and video questions get answered.

12 personal video reviews a year

Submit one video every month, a guided breathing session or a class you taught. You get specific notes back on cueing, pacing and presence.

4 ad account reviews a year

One every quarter. I ran Meta and Google Ads at a large agency. I go through your account and tell you what I'd change.

Plus the templates and tactics I update as I learn what works.

07 Who you train with

Not a guru. A companion a few steps ahead.

Over 20 years teaching traditional Kung Fu and movement Almost five years as a Wim Hof Method instructor, before developing Hormesis Breathing A 110,000-subscriber channel and Breath Rituals, built from home as a father of three, on about two days a week

I'm in every session, I do the reviews myself, and I'll be there for your first workshop. That's why the group stays small.

08 Pricing

Pay for the certification. Or get it free with the Teacher Plan.

10 Questions

Straight answers before you join.

Is this certification accredited?+
No. It's an independent certification under my name, and breathwork is not a regulated profession in most countries. What stands behind it is the published criteria, the safety check, and the fact that you can fail. If your employer or insurer needs a specific accreditation, ask them first and write to me before you join.
Does it include liability insurance?+
No. Insurance depends on your country and your other work, so arranging cover is your responsibility. You get the intake and waiver templates I use.
What can I call myself, and what can I use?+
Certified breathwork teacher, Kitaro Waga's Breathwork Teacher Program. You may use the session structures, scripts and templates in your own teaching. My courses, the Breath Rituals community and the brand assets stay mine. Certification can be withdrawn for safety or conduct reasons, and only for those.
Who should I not teach after this?+
The training is for teaching healthy adults. You learn to screen for the standard contraindications, including pregnancy, epilepsy, cardiovascular conditions and a history of panic attacks. These practices are never done in or near water. This is education, not treatment.
How much time does it take, and what if I miss a session?+
The live session is 90 minutes. Add your daily practice and one to two hours of teaching reps a week. Every session is recorded and the recording counts. Only the sessions where you lead need you live.
I only want to teach in person. Is this for me?+
Probably not. A third of the program is about teaching online and being found. A training focused on live facilitation will serve you better.
Do I need an audience or a YouTube channel already?+
No. I started from zero. You don't have to be on YouTube either. We pick one channel that suits you and start there.
What happens after three months?+
On the monthly plan you cancel once you're certified and keep the title and the core material. To stay for the Teacher Plan you switch to annual. On the annual plan nothing changes, and it renews at the same $980.

If you've ever thought "I could teach this" and talked yourself out of it.

This is the version where you don't work it out alone. First session Friday 23 October.
